The World Photography Day was a mega event at Brainware University. The event kicked off with Hon'ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhayay sharing his stunning photography from the sacred ghats of Varanasi to the vibrant Theyyam of Kerala. Apart from that, from wildlife wonders with award-winning Ripan Biswas, to mountain magic with Subhamoy Ghosh, and legendary sports moments with Lopamudra Talukdar - our students were captivated by these masters of the lens.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology - Artificial Intelligence hosted a dynamic 5-day workshop on Emerging Technology, featuring esteemed professors from ISI, Jadavpur University, and more. The event offered cutting-edge insights into the future of AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, and beyond.

On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Brainware University celebrated with great enthusiasm on campus. The event commenced with the hoisting of the tri-color, followed by a cultural programmes featuring recitations, patriotic songs and inspiring speeches.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets, adding a sweet touch to the patriotic spirit of the day.

Brainware University proudly celebrated the exceptional achievements of HS toppers from North 24 Parganas at the Brainware Shiksha Samman 2024! The event was a heartwarming tribute to the brilliance and hard work of our young scholars, who have set new academic benchmarks.

Starting with Javed Akhtar’s quote, Binod Kumar Homagai, Co-founder, Wow Momo, started talking about his journey at the fireside chat organised in Celebration of World Entrepreneurship Day. Reminiscing about his family, he discussed how his parents believed in him and helped him become an Entrepreneur. He shared how Wow Momo struggled to find manpower early on, but now they have over 60,000 employees.

A fascinating seminar on 'Archival Encounter: Research, Imagination, and Negotiation with Invisibilities' featured the brilliant Mr. Suddhadeep Mukherjee, a Research Scholar from Rutgers University, USA. He took the English students on a journey through the world of archives, revealing how they’re more than just storage—they hold both abundance and absence.

The Department of Hospital Management recently hosted an insightful seminar titled ‘Efficient Environment-friendly Hospital: Enhancing Patient Well-being and Aiding the Curative Process’. Sudip Dey, Senior Manager and Advisor-Quality and Academics at the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata highlighted the transformative power of Green Hospitals.

Our future Operation Theatre Technologists got a behind-the-scenes pass at our recent seminar, ‘Behind the Mask: Shining a Spotlight on Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technologists.’
Dr. Abir Ray from CMRI Hospital and Dr. Shiladitya Bose from TATA Medical Centre took us on an eye-opening journey through the bustling world of the operation theatre. They unravelled the nitty-gritty of being an Anesthesia Technologist, sharing expert insights and real-world wisdom.

Ever thought about solving the world's plastic problem? Agni Mitra, the visionary Founder, Director of Amwoodo, shared his incredible journey of turning a dream into reality. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs: “First, gain experience. Then, build your dream start-up!”

John Mukherjee, the Monitoring and Documentation Manager of Child in Need Institute (CINI) discussed the Digital Divide on International Youth Day! He kicked things off by shining a light on some cultural issues we often overlook, like how not everyone has access to mobile phones (yep, that’s still a thing!). This, he pointed out, is just one example of the inequality that exists in our world.Then, he switched gears to talk about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr. Jyotsnarani Jena, Associate at KIIT-TBI’s Technology Transfer Office, broke it down at a seminar on ‘Essentials of IP and Know-how of Technology Transfer/IP Commercialisation.’ She shared how turning your invention into innovation is the real game-changer. And yes, securing those rights is crucial.

Under the theme ‘Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding support for all,’ the week was packed with lively and educational activities. The highlight included a colorful collage competition and a spirited debate contest, both buzzing with energy and creativity.

At ‘Unlocking the Unconscious: A Seminar on Dream Analysis’, Jhuma Basak, Training & Supervising Psychoanalyst at the Indian Psychoanalytical Society (IPS) and a member of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), London, took us on a fascinating journey through the mysterious world of dreams.

National Sports Day not only commemorates India's rich sporting heritage but also inspires future generations to embrace the values of discipline, perseverance, and excellence in sports.In another welcome deviation of the students from academics, a number of sporting events were organised on the occasion of National Sports Day

Brainware University’s National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and Communication Club joined forces for an energetic Anti-Ragging Awareness Rally. With slogans, posters, and a lot of spirit, our students marched across the campus, spreading the message loud and clear: Ragging has no place here! The rally was a vibrant mix of enthusiasm and commitment to creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. Together, we stand strong against ragging and for unity and respect!

On a recent industry visit, our Media Science and Journalism students had an unforgettable experience at the Anandabazar Patrika newsroom. From engaging with Editor Ishani Dutta Ray to diving deep into the history of journalism with our own Sudipta Bhattacharjee, they witnessed firsthand the art of news creation.

"Hum dukhi the lekin humse bhi jyada dukhi 2 aur log the..." Just like in 3 Idiots, not landing a job immediately after college can be tough. But as Dhrubajyoti Mondal, a graduate from the 2018 batch and now Executive Engineer at Orientallabs Retail Services, shared: persistence always pays off!
We also heard from Anusrita Mitra (2020 batch), now a Developer at TCS, and Subhajit Gole (2019 batch), who is shining as a System Engineer at Labvantage Solutions. They offered invaluable insights on acing corporate interviews and crafting standout CVs. as our proud alumni shared their incredible journeys from campus to corporate.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Koushik Biswas, Assistant Professor in our Department of Agriculture, has made a significant academic contribution! His insightful book chapter, 'Role of Omics in Understanding Signaling Cascade of Abiotic Stress in Plants,' has been featured in the renowned Elsevier (SCOPUS INDEXED) book, 'Current Omics Advancement in Plant Abiotic Stress Biology,' published by Academic Press.
