DST-sponsored workshop |

Brainware University, sponsored by DST, held an illuminating workshop on
'Intellectual Property Awareness and Patent Filing.' Led by Dr. Mahuya Hom
Choudhury, the session elucidated invention distinctions, using 'Alice in
Wonderland' analogies. She clarified the difference between 'discovery' and
'invention'. In her style, she explained how innovation leading to a new
composition amounts to 'invention'.
The workshop, enriched by legal insights from Mukulika Sinha, Additional
District Judge, Barasat Court. deepened attendees' understanding of patent
filing and intellectual property intricacies.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology took the streets, joining hands
with our dynamic pharmacy students, to organize an incredible awareness
rally to initiate their observation of 62nd National Pharmacy Week.
Following that a 'Free Pharmacy Health Check Up Camp' at Guma No. 1 Gram
Panchayat was organised.
In an enlightening seminar Dr. Subhash C Mandal, Vice President & Chairman,
Regulatory Affairs Division, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Bengal
Branch) conducted an intriguing session on "Pharmacovigilance to Ensure Safe
Medication."

Embracing Vigilance Awareness Week 2023: Uniting for a 'Corruption Free India'

In a remarkable initiative, Brainware University's Department of Law hosted
an enlightening week-long series of sessions centered on the theme
'Corruption Free India.' Awareness rally, oat taking, extempore competition,
seminars, and invited talks. The event was graced by the presence of
distinguished resource persons who shared their profound insights on the
pervasive issue of corruption in our country.
Dr. Ayanita Banerjee, a Fellow of the Social Studies Research Council, USA,
and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Religion and Denominations, Iran.
Masuk Hossain Khan, a retired ADJ, with extensive experience practicing as
an ADJ in over 15 District Courts.
Biplab De, an Advocate at Hooghly District Court. Together, they shed light
on the alarming prevalence of corruption across various professions and
discussed viable solutions to combat this challenge, which has been causing
a staggering loss to our national wealth.

On this auspicious occasion, our students came together to take the pledge
to uphold the principles and values enshrined in our Constitution. It's a
day to honor the document that guides our nation towards unity, justice, and
liberty for all.
Our NSS volunteers added vibrant colors to the celebration through a
kaleidoscope of cultural activities! From soul-stirring songs to mesmerizing
dance performances and gripping dramas, the campus was filled with the

Brainware University. The spotlight was on 'Endoscopic Vein Harvesting,' a
crucial skill set in the world of modern healthcare.

Medical India; Abhishek Bhattacharjee - Physician Assistant and Course
Coordinator, Healthworld Hospital and Arpit Mukherjee - Sr. Critical Care

First Aid is not necessarily a physical aid; an insightful session on 'Psychological
First Aid' for the Psychology students
|
|
|
|
With the objective of spreading awareness on 'Psychological First Aid', the
Department of psychology organised a seminar on the same topic.
"The individuals associated with Psychological First Aid (PFA) are exposed
to victims of disasters and disaster situations. The youngsters who are
associated with PFA think of this as a social work and are often
disheartened to see the behaviour of the people in crisis situation, so it
is important that they are trained in these situations," Dr. Doyel Ghosh,
Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer, Institute of Psychiatry, IPGMER, said
while interacting with the students at the seminar.
Dr. Tirthankar Dasgupta, Consultant Psychiatrist, Moner Alo Mental
Healthcare, was another speaker at the session who spoke about stress and
the brain's response to the various kinds of stress.

We were honored to host Miami Shome, a renowned Motivational and
Transformational Leadership Coach, and Training and Development Consultant,
associated with the National Council of Training and Development quality
framework in Papua New Guinea. This session was nothing short of inspiring!
Miami Shome captivated our students with engaging activities designed to
help them 'Discover Themselves.'

In a unique seminar session with the Management students, Subham Das,
Co-Founder, Amuktika, Incharge: R&D, Marketing B2B & Purchase, shared how he
started his small start-up as a school student at an IIC seminar.
Since then, it has been a learning experience and motivational journey for
him! Embracing the world of ChatGPT and Artificial Intelligence, Das raised
an important question in front of the students - "AI will take over the
human jobs very soon, so what is left there for the humans?"
